The announcement was made at the firm’s annual Christmas Party, marking a significant milestone in their careers and for the firm’s leadership team.

About the New Partners
Roberto Flores brings a wealth of experience in personal injury law. Flores, who has been with The Carlson Law Firm for 11 years, has consistently demonstrated a commitment to justice and exceptional client advocacy. He has helped thousands of clients recover millions of dollars after serious injuries.
Cassandra Golder is a dedicated family law attorney known for her compassionate approach and innovative strategies, which have secured significant outcomes for her clients. Golder is active in several organizations and does volunteer work for legal clinics, routinely presents continuing education for family law matters and mock high school trials. She is a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and a long-standing member of the Texas Bar College. She has held multiple positions for the Bell County Young Lawyers Association and Bell County Bar Association. Golder was named the Bell County Young Attorney of the Year in 2020 and The Carlson Law Firm Attorney of the Year in 2023. In 2024, Golder was also named a Super Lawyers Rising Star.

Cheryl Powell has built a reputation as a tenacious advocate in family law. She is one of the few attorneys in her field who takes on family law court appeals and achieves positive outcomes for her clients by combining legal expertise with a deep understanding of her clients’ needs. Powell is active in several organizations in the Austin area. She currently serves as Vice President of the Williamson County Bar Association and a Director with the Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation. Powell has been named 2024 Top 40 Professional by Austin Black Business Journal, Influential Lawyer by the Austin Black Business Journal every year since 2022, Austin Top Monthly Top Attorney every year since 2020 and was honored with the Ruth Bader Ginsberg “I Dissent” Award by the Women Lawyers’ Section of the Williamson County Bar Association, where she served as Director for two years. Powell received The Carlson Law Firm’s highest distinction of Attorney of the Year in 2023, among many other accolades, including high praise from many of her colleagues.
