Seasons are changing, and the holiday season is approaching. Next on the calendar: Halloween. Trick-or-treating seemingly goes hand in hand with Halloween, but some parents may hesitate to take part in this traditional activity. With Halloween just days away, parents may struggle to come up with Halloween ideas that keep their children’s safety in mind while still allowing them to have fun.Ā
For many children, Halloween is a day they can dress up and pretend to be their favorite superhero, magical character, or a spooky zombie and collect a ton of candy! However, there are still lots of fun Halloween activities that don’t involve trick-or-treating.Ā
Halloween Ideas for a Spooky Night at Home
Halloween is the perfect time to let our imaginations run wild and come up with a creative approach to keep kids safe and happy. Consider the following low-risk Halloween ideas for an enjoyable night of spooks and fright.
1. Trick-or-Treat with a Twist
Itās not Halloween if you donāt get to shout trick-or-treat! Decorate the inside of your home and have your children go from room to room to collect candy. If you want to go all out, each room can have a theme or spook-tacular decorations. Additionally, if you do go trick-or-treating around the neighborhood, keep these tips in mind.
2. Watch Movies in Costume
Since getting dressed in a costume is what makes Halloween exciting, let your child watch the movie in their costume. It would be extra fun if you can find a movie that goes with their costume.
3. Pumpkin Party
Have a pumpkin decorating party with your household. Pumpkin decorating can be fun for all ages. You can either paint pumpkins, carve pumpkins, or get a decorating kit. Make sure to snap photos and ask friends on social media to vote for their favorite!
