The Carlson Law Firm Hosting Blood Drive Aug. 2

To help address the current shortage, The Carlson Law Firm is hosting a blood drive with the Baylor Scott & White Blood Center from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 2. Donors can come to The Carlson Law Firm at 100 E. Central Texas Expy Killeen, TX 76541. The BSW Blood Center bus will be easily accessible in the firm’s parking lot. 

“We encourage our employees and the community that one single blood donation can help save up to three lives,” said Managing Partner Craig Carlson. “We’ve previously broken records when hosting these blood drives; we’re looking forward to seeing the community support for this one too.”

While the need for blood is constant, summer, holidays and weekends are the most challenging seasons to maintain the Killeen-Temple area’s blood supply. Donors are fewer in number and the need for blood is usually higher. 

“With Labor Day on the horizon and the holiday season not too far behind, The Carlson Law Firm is doing what it can to ensure local hospitals can meet the demand,” Carlson said. 

Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood or platelets. Approximately 29,000 units of red blood cells are required daily in the U.S. Blood can be donated every 56 days.

Eat a good, nutritious meal and drink plenty of water before giving. Snacks will also be available after a successful donation.

Each pint of blood donated can save up to three lives. As a thank you for saving a life, each donor will receive a unique t-shirt and a 40 oz handled cup! Donors must be 17 or older and have a valid photo ID. For more information, visit carlsonattorneys.com/community-involvement.
