[KILLEEN, TX] — On Aug. 3, over 1,000 people attended The Carlson Law Firm’s First Annual Great Backpack Giveaway 2024 in Killeen, where the firm distributed hundreds of backpacks filled with school supplies.
Hundreds of Central Texas families received back-to-school financial relief as the firm gave away brand-new backpacks filled with school supplies for the start of school next week. Families in attendance could also enjoy games, giveaways and snacks, all courtesy of the firm.
“Seeing Killeen area families enjoy this event validates our efforts in the city where we began our quest for a better, more just society,” said Managing Partner Craig Carlson. “Hundreds of families had a wonderful time celebrating back-to-school with new backpacks, games and free treats from two local businesses, Caribbean Flava Ice and Toda Madre Cravings”.
Fostering community growth through education is one of The Carlson Law Firm’s social commitments through its charitable program Carlson Cares. With the rising cost of school supplies, the firm worked with H-E-B to supply students with essential school supplies.
“The Carlson Law Firm is intent on sowing into our communities in meaningful ways,” said Danielle Mott, Community Outreach Coordinator for The Carlson Law Firm. “In April, we saw how much the community responded to our Día del Niño event, so it felt natural for our team to replicate the Great Backpack Giveaway that we do annually in Waco for our home office.”
The Killeen Great Backpack Giveaway follows the firm’s successful Fourth Annual Great Waco Backpack Giveaway, where the Waco staff hosted over 800 attendees at its location on July 20.
Carlson also hosted numerous chance giveaways with trendy yet practical prizes for all ages, including Stanley cups, a Nike duffle bag and more.
“Our commitment to helping people drives everything we do, and seeing the kids’ excitement as they received their backpacks was rewarding,” said Carlson.
