WACO, TX— On July 20, The Carlson Law Firm distributed hundreds of backpacks filled with school supplies, compliant with Waco ISD policies. More than 800 people from Waco and surrounding communities joined the firm’s Waco staff for the 4th Annual Waco Great Backpack Giveaway.

Waco area students and their families got a head start on back to school with new backpacks and school supplies.

“This backpack giveaway gets bigger every year,” said Waco Partner, Dominic Braus. Our firm is built on helping people—especially families. If this event helps even one child start the school year with a smile and the supplies they need, then we’ve accomplished our mission. We wouldn’t be able to give back this way without the support and trust of the Waco community.”

More than 800 attended the 4th Annual Waco Great Backpack Giveaway at The Carlson Law Firm.

According to Nerd Wallet, the average family can expect to spend around $541 on school supplies and clothing for their kid’s upcoming school year. The firm allotted up to three backpacks per family to help offset some of the anticipated costs associated with back-to-school shopping.

“We love providing this kind of support to our Waco community,” said Managing Partner Craig Carlson. “Our firm has always been dedicated to being a resource for our community, so to see the level of turnout for one of our events shows that Waco knows The Carlson Law Firm is here to help.”

“There is a lot of planning that goes into putting on an event of this scale,” Braus said. “But seeing the excitement of the kids receiving their backpacks, getting pancakes and visiting the different game stations we have set up today makes it all worthwhile.”
